This 66‐minute documentary explores issues of race identity as it highlights four African‐Americans living punk rock lifestyles in mostly Caucasian communities. A probing film, it addresses some of the deeper matters of African‐American musicians’ lives, including loneliness, exile, interracial dating and black power. Directed by James Spooner, featuring performances by Bad Brains, Tamar Kali, Cipher, and Ten Grand and including interviews with members of Fishbone, 247‐spyz, Dead Kennedys, Candiria, and Orange 9mm, this documentary captures the insight of a large musical community. A panel discussion led by WMNF 88.5 FM’s Alternative Music Director, Mike Bagley, will follow the screening.

For adults.
