Myron Jackson has written and performed poetry since 1972, and has more than 30 years of professional experience as a drummer and percussionist. Jackson’s style was influenced by artists who exhibited social consciousness through written literature and folk music, and his original works address social issues, satire, history and fiction. In 2009, Jackson was awarded an emerging artist grant from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County to produce a poetry CD.
