In this program, Anelsa uses the podium and the pen to explore the black experience in all of its manifested forms. Dressed in period clothing, Anelsa takes her audiences on a journey through time and the struggles of African‐American women as they navigated their families from slavery to freedom. She recants the struggles of Harriet Tubman, a slave named Mittie, Fannie Lou Hamer, and other freedom pioneers.

For teens and adults.
