A celebration by the Alonso High School’s Salsa Rengue Dancers begins this event, followed by storytelling performances by Ambassadors. Participants will also observe an introduction to storytelling by professional storytellers Tamara Green and Maureen Belote. The purpose for this event is to raise awareness of the free storytelling prep workshops the Storytelling Chapter is offering for participation in the April 21, 2012 annual Storytelling Festival. During a series of four workshops, youth in grades K to 12 will be guided in the ancient art of storytelling and developing lifelong communication skills. This event, registration for the workshops and the workshops are free. Youth may register at this event. Workshops begin Feb. 13. Refreshments will be provided.
